Dr. Lesley Daniels, Ph.D., C.Psych.

Dr. Daniels is a registered psychologist, licensed by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) to practice clinical and school psychology with children, adolescents, and their families.  She has extensive experience providing psychological assessment and intervention services in a variety of hospital, children’s mental health centre, school board, and private practice settings*.   

​Dr. Daniels earned her Ph.D. in School and Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Toronto in 2006.  Her graduate research focused on the school experiences of students with ADHD and teachers’ perspectives on students with the disorder.  Dr. Daniels is also a trained teacher, having earned her Bachelor of Education degree from York University with a focus on Primary-Junior education.  She is passionate about helping children and adolescents achieve their personal and academic potential and brings warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm to her work.

At Steps Psychology, Dr. Daniels conducts comprehensive assessments of learning, attentional, and social-emotional concerns, as well as testing for intellectual giftedness.  She also uses cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) to treat children and adolescents dealing with anxiety and mood disorders, social issues, and behavioural difficulties.

 

*Previous training and employment includes positions at Sick Kids hospital (Learning Disabilities Research Program), Trillium Health Centre (Child and Adolescent Mental Health outpatient services), Hincks-Dellcrest Centre (Day Treatment program), Integra Children's Mental Health Centre, York Catholic District School Board, Toronto District School Board, and New Bridges Child and Adolescent Psychological Services.
